Ankenzelte

Swiss Canton: Glarus

A flat, round and yeasted pastry that contains raisins, Ankenzelte (also known as Anggäzältä) dates back to around the mid-19th century in the canton of Glarus. This soft, but dense pastry has a spiced sugar topping. You can find them at Bäckerei Gabriel in the city of Glarus. At this bakery, they top this cake-like bread with Magenträs.
